Posted November 14, 2018 06:11:00 A new Disney-themed movie has launched a new franchise that follows the cat and mouse game between two cat power companies.
The title, Cat Power: The Power Rangers Movie, tells the story of a group of Power Rangers and their journey to defeat the evil cat, the Raza, who wants to take over the world.
In a statement to TheWrap, Lionsgate said the title is a nod to the franchise’s theme of saving the world and “to celebrate the success of the movie.”
The movie follows the Power Rangers as they face off against a villainous evil cat named Raza who wants world domination.
Raza is one of a number of villains who seek to conquer the world, including the evil mastermind of the Super Sentai series, Super Sentarō, and the evil villainous King Zodiack.
The Power Ranger team also faces a group called the Catpower, who use the power of cats to control the weather.
The film, which hits theaters Nov. 29, stars Jason Bateman, Dan Stevens, Josh Gad, Sam Worthington, Zazie Beetz, Nick Frost, Lauren Ambrose, David Tennant and Jai Courtney.
The Power Rangers franchise, which has grossed more than $2 billion worldwide, will also get a sequel, Power Rangers Dino Charge, on March 18.
The film will also star Jason Batemans brother, Matt Bateman.
Matt Bateman will be returning as a regular on the Power Ranger movie franchise and has played many roles throughout the series, including Chief, the Ranger who first saved the world from an attack by an evil group called King Zodiack.
