Which power stations in British Columbia have the highest percentage of green power?

It’s the greenest power plants on the planet, according to the latest Canadian Energy Market Operator (CEMO) report.

Green power is an industry-wide term that describes power plants that use non-polluting and renewable energy to generate electricity, as opposed to coal-fired plants.

CEMO says the percentage of renewable power capacity in Canada has increased from 1.6 per cent in 2013 to 2.2 per cent this year.

The report also found that green power capacity increased in all provinces except British Columbia, where the percentage is at 2.7 per cent.

But even with more green power, CEMo says it’s still not enough to replace all the power generated by the industry, particularly in Alberta and the West.
