The Power series is returning for season five.
The show follows the exploits of a group of high school kids who must overcome the obstacles of school and school life in order to compete in the prestigious Powerball lottery.
The series, which stars Sarah Chalke, is the first to have an all-female cast.
It is also the first Power to have a male lead.
Power, which is produced by WGN America and executive produced by Melissa Bernstein and Jessica Rosenworcel, has been a fan favorite since its debut on Comedy Central in 2014.
The new season is slated to premiere in early 2018.
Power’s first season was one of the most anticipated of the season.
It averaged a 2.7 rating among adults 18-49 and 4.5 million viewers.
The first season also spawned a sequel, which debuted to a 2% win among adults and 7.6 million viewers, while the third season has been gaining momentum and has a 2-percent gain among adults.WGN America also announced a partnership with Netflix, a network of its own, to stream Power from Netflix.
The Netflix deal will be available for purchase through the end of the year.
Power will air on WGN-AM and Power TV.
The second season will be produced by Dave Hiller, who previously produced and wrote and directed the NBC hit “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.”
